In January-June, the FAI in electronics and IT projects across China (covering only those involving an amount in excess of RMB5 million, and the same below) rose 41% year on year to RMB236.2 billion. The growth rate is 7.8 percent higher than in the same period of 2009. In June, the FAI reached RMB68.7 billion, growing 36.9% month on month. At the same time, the number of newly started projects dropped to 2,271, down 8.7% on year, which was 46.5 percentage points slower than the first quarter. New fixed assets amounted to RMB84.9 billion in value, surging 63.8% year on year, and the growth rate was 36 percentage points higher than the growth in the same period of last year. The technical service sector of the electronic and information industry made fast growth. The electronic and information industry maintained a same pace of sale growth at home and abroad, and export was in faster growth than that of domestic sales. The overseas sales of the whole industry started exceeding the domestic sales in the end of May, and the export growth has enhanced since June, with the growth standing at 4 percentage points faster than the domestic sales. Of them, output value of domestic sales reached RMB1,197.55 billion, up 27.2% year on year; and the delivery export value was RMB1,664.71 billion, up 31.2%, 1.7 percentage points higher than industry's average. The industry's dependence on exports was 58.1%, which was 0.7 percentage points higher than the same period of last year, but 0.6 percentage points lower than the first five months of this year. Electronic component and device sector won rapid growth, but the growth of household audio and video systems and communication equipment sectors slowed in the first half. The sales output value of electronic component and device increased 32.1% and 49.3% respectively, and their export delivery value up 31.4% and 50.1% respectively. In particular, sales value and export delivery value of IC jumped 49.4% and 46.9% respectively, escaping from the sharp decline of 15.3% and 16% last year. Household audio and video system sector reported slowdowns in both production and export, with the sale value and export delivery value growth arriving at 25.5% and 34.9%, which 4.7 percentage points and 4.2 percentage points from the first five months of this year, respectively. Affected by the decline in the operation investment and exports, communication equipment kept at a low level of growth, with the sales value and export delivery value up 9.9% and 8.3%, 19.6 percentage points and 22.9 percentage points lower than that of the average of the whole industry, respectively. Companies with investment from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan presented strong growth, while shares of foreign-invested enterprises declined. Companies with investment from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan registered 33.9% and 38.1% increase in sales value and export delivery value , 4.4 percentage points and 6.9 percentage points higher than the industry's average, and foreign-funded companies presented 26.7% and 28.9% increases in the sales value and export delivery value, 2.8 percentage points and 2.3 percentage points lower than the industry's average, respectively, and accounting for 51.0% and 63.3% of the total of the whole industry, down 1.1 percentage points and 1.2 percentage points from the same period of last year, respectively.
